ASUU Blasts FG over Student’s loan / ASUU Bauchi Zone Wary Of FG’s Student Loan Scheme,

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has strongly criticized the federal government’s student loan initiative. ASUU President, Emmanuel Osodeke, highlighted concerns over the long-term impact of student loans on graduates, pointing out that research from other countries shows graduates often face significant challenges with debt repayment. These financial burdens, he argued, lead to demoralization among graduates and place unnecessary strain on society.

Emmanuel Osodeke suggested that rather than relying on loans, the government should increase the budgetary allocation for education, which would eliminate the need for student loans altogether. He also noted that this was the third attempt to implement such a loan system, with previous efforts having failed. These repeated failures, according toEmmanuel Osodeke , cast doubt on the viability and effectiveness of the initiative.

The statement was delivered by Victoria, reporting for VOSTV News.
