I think Nnamdi Kanu was Kidnapped – Wole Soyinka

Noble Laureate Professor Wole Soyinka has critised the way and manner with which the Nigerian Government arrested the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, a group that has be proscribed by the Nigerian government.

The Country’s Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami had announced on 30th June, 2021 that kanu has been captured and returned to Nigeria.

Professor Wole Soyinka accused said to him Nnamdi kanu was kidnapped and not intercepted as the government has put it.
It’s not for me to tell the government to prepare herself because when the truth about the way Kanu was arrested unfolds, it would be very loud. People have expressed various view about the issue, weather Nigeria acted outside the law or not. Soyinka said.

Professor also raised the issue of how Nnamdi Kanu conducted himself when he was outside the country. The level of his hate talks was unfortunate, Soyinka said.

Hate talks is an issue the laws of any nation could judge with. But talking about whether he was kidnapped, quote and unquote, you could say intercept as much as you want, but I think he was kidnapped, from the way he was intercepted and that is wrong internationally and its wrong morally, Professor Soyinka added.
