Popular Nollywood actor, David Osagie, has reportedly died in his hotel room hours after shooting on a movie set and days after the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, had set up a 3-man prayer committee to seek the face of God against untimely death in Nigerian movie industry.
The announcement of Osagie’s death was first made by Actress Ngozi Ezeh in a post via her social media handles in which she explained that the actor did not show any sign of sickness but refused to wake up the next day in his hotel room.
“I hate to say this but we have lost another Nollywood king, Sir David. He was not sick, it just happened. How do we explain this, another loss in Nollywood. Oh Lord have mercy. I mourn again oh” Ngozi wrote in her Instagram post.
This was followed with a confirmation post by Actress Ibiwari Etuk who took to her Instagram account, saying “This can’t be explained. Oh, he filmed yesterday and went back to rest hoping to resume shooting today but never woke up. Another king role interpreter is gone. What is this oh God”.
The 52-year-old Osagie died days after the sudden passing of Actress Chi Bernards slumped and died while she was cleaning a Catholic Church in Enugu State, prompting the National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Mr. Emeka Rollas to set up a three man prayer committee led by Apostle Eucharia Anunobi with a mandate to design a prayer link for all members to join across the country.
