Sowore alleges threat to life from Chairman of INEC, says supporters of President Buhari mobilising attack on him for calling on Nigerian students to demand end to ASUU strike (Tweet)

Nigerian human rights activist, publisher of New York based online news agency (Sahara Reporters) and presidential aspirant in the coming 2023 General Elections under the African Action Congress, AAC, Omoyele Sowore, has alleged threats to his life over purported revelation that the Chairman of the Nigerian Independent National Electoral Commision, INEC, paid a sum of N3B to retain his position.

The 2023 presidential hopeful also revealed that another attack is being planned by the supporters of Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, because he had called on Nigerian students to stand-up to the federal government and demand an end to the ongoing strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU. He, however, affirmed that his resolve on the two issue and many other remain unchanged.

In his words, “A new deadly attack on my person and close associates have been planned again, this time by the Chairman of INEC Nigeria, Prof Mamhood Yakubu, his reason was that I exposed that he paid N3b to renew his tenure. He procured boys from Jisiri in Abuja!

“Also heard another set of persons are being mobilised for attacks on me over my call on Nigerian youths and students to confront the @MBuhari regime over #EndASUUStrike. My position remains unchanged, the youths of this country must break the yoke of oppression! #Revolutionnow”.

Sowore made this known, recently, in a post on his social media handles, affirming that new deadly attacks on his person and close associates have been planned because he was responsible for exposing Prof. Mamhood Yakubu (Chairman of INEC in Nigeria) who paid N3B just to remain in office
